TL;DR: This hair dryer is efficient, well-built, and reasonably-priced. A solid choice for daily use whether you work in a salon, or do all your drying at home.

Approximately every five years, our hair dryer dies in a very dramatic way. It never just “stops working”. There’s always smoke, a burning smell, or actual fire involved. When this happens, I do extensive research to find the fastest, quietest, sturdiest, most reasonably-priced hair dryer on the market. This time, after careful consideration, we went with the HOT TOOLS Professional 2000 Turbo Ionic Hair Dryer. It was a great choice. It deftly keeps up with the daily drying of two long-haired, and one short-haired heads. It has stood up to occasional bumps and bruises, and has cut our hair-drying time by a quarter. It’s still not as quiet as I’d like, but for the price point, it’s a winner.
This hair dryer boasts 1875 Watts of airflow, and 6 Heat/Speed Settings. The variety of heat and speed settings allow you to customize your drying experience to meet your individual hair needs. It also has a handy “Cool Shot” button to help quickly set styles in place. I admit to not fully understanding Ionic Technology, but the purpose is to reduce frizz and static, reduce drying time, and leave hair smooth and shiny. I can confirm it does ALL of those things. So whatever it is, it works!
Another feature I find particularly important is the weight. This one is lightweight and comfortable to hold for long periods of time. I’m able to complete a full drying session without experiencing a tired, tingly arm. Anyone with long hair knows this is a remarkable feat! This dryer also has an 8-ft. cord, which is more useful than you think it would be. If you share a bathroom, and need to constantly maneuver around other people, you’ll appreciate the extra length on that cord! You’ll also appreciate the removable filter, which makes it easy to clean and maintain. No more fuzz and dust clogging up the vent at the back of the dryer. All that gunk is not only dangerous (and what probably led to my previous fires), but will cause your dryer to be less efficient, and even shorten its life.
Overall, the HOT TOOLS Professional 2000 Turbo Ionic Hair Dryer is a top-quality hair dryer that provides a range of features and benefits not found in other brands. Whether you are a professional stylist or simply looking for a high-performance hair dryer for home use, the HOT TOOLS Professional 2000 Turbo Ionic Hair Dryer is an excellent choice.
